William E. Minshall III

William E. Minshall III, age 74, of Kelleys Island and Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, October 11, 2023.

He was born April 10, 1949, in Cleveland, and graduated from St. Albans High School and Boston University.  Bill worked at Alex Brown & Sons for 20 years in Boston as a stockbroker. He then was the mayor of Kelleys Island from 1994-1998 and has been the Kelleys Island Zoning Inspector ever since.  Bill loved being outside, playing cards, reading, golf, politics, the stock market, and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his son William E. Minshall IV; friend Rosalyn Ahner; brothers Werner (Joan) Minshall, and Peter (Suzanne) Minshall; and many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his wife Molly (Newcomb) Minshall, in 2009; parents William and Frances Minshall; and brother in-law Brad Newcomb. 

Graveside services will be held at 1PM Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Kelleys Island Cemetery, Kelleys Island.  Rev. John Butchko will officiate.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
