William M. German, age 70, of Castalia, passed away on the Epiphany, January 6, 2021, in his residence, following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 12, 1950, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1968. Bill served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed In-Country Vietnam from 1971-1972. He worked for Metaltek, the former Sandusky International, for 43 years, and was a lifetime farmer and gardener. Bill was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, and the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Virginia “Gini” (Smetzer) German; daughter Wendy (Tracy) Whittaker; son Rick (Jen) Osburn; grandchildren Tori (Jonah Boyer) Crum, Ava Osburn, Abby Osburn, Steve Penrod, and Tyler Penrod; great grandson Rowan Boyer; and sister Kay Loroff.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Florence (Opper) German; and brother in-law David Loroff.
Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Castalia Cemetery. Pastor Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
