Wayne H. “Ike” Lippert Sr., age 86, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 10, 1935, in Castalia, and attended Margaretta High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong farmer. Ike worked in the Labors Local #480, Sandusky, and for the Operators Engineers Local #18, Cleveland for many years. He spent his time working on and restoring antique tractors, and was a member of the Firelands Tractor Club and the Antique Tractor Club. Ike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to Christian music. His favorite bible verse was Romans 10:13 “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” And his wife and son look forward to see him again in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife Audrey (DeHenning) Lippert; son Wayne Lippert Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Ike was preceded in death by his parents William and Minnie (Gurtz) Lippert; sister Irma Neill; and brothers Artie, Bill, and Kenny Lippert.
Friends may call from 11 AM until time of services at 12 Noon, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Pastor H. Wayne Keith will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
