Vincent Torres, age 76, of Fremont, had his life journey come to an unexpected end on Friday, July 2, 2021, in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital, Toledo.
He was born January 22, 1945, in Laredo, TX and attended Margaretta High School. After High School, Vincent enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962. Vincent went to work for Ford Motor Company in 1969, in Saline, MI, and soon after, was transferred to the Sandusky Plant where he would spend 37 years of service, retiring in 2005.
He was loved by many and is survived by his three children Alina Torres, Abel Torres, and Amber Torres; five grandchildren Joshua Hall, Brittani Mills, Mariam, Scarlett, and Lucas Greenawald; two great-grandchildren Chase and Reese Mills; stepchildren Keith Howard, Jonathan Howard, and Tyger Brionez; sisters Emma (Benny) Martinez, Irma (Robert) Jones, Lydia (Alfredo DeLuna) Torres, Mary Anne (Alfredo) Palomo, Sally (Cesar) Hernadez, and Teddie (Rigoberto) Hernandez; brothers Joe (Elvira) Torres and Daniel (Olga) Torres; and many nieces and nephews.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents Matias and Mercedes Torres; sisters Beatrice (J.B.) Jenkins and Gloria Torres; brother Manuel (Jeanne) Torres; and stepson Kevin Howard; nieces Esther Garcia, Christy Jones, and Erica Jones; nephew Jose Navarro; great niece Victoria Imke; and great nephew Samuel Palomo.
A private memorial service will be held. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
