Thomas W. Dwight, age 84, of Castalia, passed away Friday August 29, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born April 25, 1941, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1959. He was a plumber and pipefitter for Local Union 42, owned and operated Castalia Hardware Plumbing and Heating for 45 years, and was a pilot. Thomas enjoyed flying his plane every weekend to his home on Middle Bass Island and enjoyed traveling cross country with his friend Tony Zahel. He was member of Castalia Lions Club, and EAA.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Neill) Dwight; daughter Kimberly (Bruce) Coburn of Montana; son Tim (Chrissy) Dwight of Castalia; 4 grandchildren Courtney (Nick Grine), Lindsay (Jeff Berger), Kendra (Marcus Johnson), Katelyn (Levi Maughan); five great grandchildren Wyatt, Cole, Klohe, Trinity, and Abel; sister Paulette Biglin; and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Dorothy Dwight; brother Daniel, and his wife Barb Dwight; and brother in-law Donald Biglin.
Private graveside services for the family will be held in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
