Shirley M. Walton

Shirley M. Walton, age 87, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday night, June 12, 2025, at Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 27, 1938, in Lynchburg, VA, and retired from GM New Departure.  She was raised in the Baptist church.

She is survived by three daughters Joanne Walton, Nancy (Charles) Volz, and Patricia (Ronald) Schlea; son James (Joann) Walton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Otis J. Walton; son Michael Walton; parents Willie Massie and Lady Lucille (Burks) Ware Sr.; sister Frances Conrad; and two brothers Willie Massie Ware Jr., and George Delnor Ware.

At the request of Shirley, cremation will take place and a private entombment in Castalia Cemetery will take place at a later date.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
