Ruth V. Veleba, age 81, of Castalia, passed away Thursday evening, July 22, 2021, at the Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 25, 1940, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1958. Ruth was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky, and was very active in the church. She worked in the food service industry for many years and worked at Providence Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Margaretta Schools; where she retired from. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and loved her daffodil flowers. In her younger years, along with her husband Paul, they enjoyed going to tractor and steam shows and attending local and state fairs.
She is survived by her husband Paul Veleba; two brothers Richard (Mary) Balduff and Larry (Sheryl) Balduff; two sister in-laws Sherryl Balduff and Debbie Balduff; brother in-law Marvin Veleba; and nieces and nephew Sue (Dave) Michos, Cindy (Ted) Patrick, Keith (Becky) Veleba, and Karin (Tim Errett) Veleba.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Agnus (Kromer) Balduff; two brothers James and Garry Balduff; sisters and brothers in-law Carolyn Veleba, Arthur Veleba, and Lynn and Marilou Gruelke.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM Monday, July 26, 2021, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11 AM. Deacon Phil Dinovo will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
