Robert Sessler, age 90, of Sandusky, died Thurs. morning, June 27, 2019 at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Sandusky, and was a 1947 graduate of Margaretta High School. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he played dartball and served on church council. He was also a member of the Margaretta Grange, the Erie Co. Pomona Grange, and served on the board of directors of the Castalia Elevator.
Bob is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Taylor, to whom he was married for 68 years; 3 daughters Susan "Mike" Cullen of Castalia, Sally "David" Warner of Vickery, and Peggy "Tom" Kingsborough of Huron; 3 sons Dennis "Barb" Sessler of Sandusky, Michael Sessler of Marblehead, and Rev. Scott "Karen" Sessler of Livonia, MI; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one sister Alice "Robert" Bertch of Sandusky; sister-in-law Donna Sessler; brother-in-law John Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Grace (Zeller) Sessler; sister Carol Barnes; and brother Curtis Sessler.
Friends may call from 4-8pm Sunday, June 30, 2019, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 am Monday, July 1, 2019, until time of services at 11 am in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. The Rev. Phillip Gardner will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
