Robert T. Price, age 89, of Clyde, peacefully passed away Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022, at The Willows at Bellevue.
He was born July 27, 1932, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and graduated from Bellefontaine High school in 1950. He continued his education at McPherson College in McPherson, KS, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1954, and then received his master’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1960. Robert began his teaching career in Belle Center, Ohio, followed by directing bands at Margaretta High School for 18 years. He finished directing bands at Bellevue High School for 8 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Congregational U.C.C. in Castalia. Robert was a member of the American Legion, Post 83, and a past member of the Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Ohio Music Educators Association, and National Music Educators Conference. He was also a member of the Erie County Chapter of the OSU Alumni Band and North Coast Concert Band. Robert enjoyed woodworking, watching Ohio State football games, and spending time with his grandchildren and other family members.
Robert is survived by his daughter Tamara (Alan) Binger, Clyde; son David Price, Sonoma, CA; grandchildren Alex (Karley) Binger, Greenwich; Ethan (Samantha Schlett) Binger, Port Clinton; and Garrett Binger, Fremont; one great granddaughter, Lettie Kay Binger; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Rita (Ellis) Price on September 14, 2018; parents Argus and Mary (Yoder) Price; sisters Reba (Charles) Lockwood, Betty (Carl) Everingham, and Twyla (Kenneth) Turner; brother John Price; and two nephews.
Friends may call from 5-7 PM Friday, March 18, 2022, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10 AM in the Congregational U.C.C., 205 Main St., Castalia. Pastor John Paputza will officiate.
