Robert L. Hartley

Robert L. Hartley, age 74, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024, in his residence following a brief illness.

He was born July 30, 1950, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1970.  He was a contractor in the construction field for many years and was a member of the Sandusky Elks.  Robert was an avid bowler and loved to watch sports and anything racing; he also loved to watch his grandchildren’s sporting events. 

He is survived by his daughters Charmaine (Jason) Brown, and Shannon Hartley; son Benjamin (Jennifer) Hartley; 11 grandchildren Ashley, Brianne, Katelynn, Dustin, Brendenn, Kristofer, Kayle, Kyler, Casey, Christian, and Connor; 5 great grandchildren, with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Ronda (Schoenegge) Hartley; son Chris Smith; grandson Zech Protzman; parents Charles and Virginia Hartley; sister Cookie Walker; and brothers Donald, Thomas, Ronald, and Elden Hartley.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday October 14, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the Sandusky Elks Club 120 E. Adams St., Sandusky.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
