Richard Hardy Obituary

Richard L. Hardy, age 88, of Bay View, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday night, May 26, 2022, in his home. 

He was born June 15, 1933, in Toledo, and was a paratrooper while serving in the U.S. Army.  Richard was a truck driver for Jones Transfer for 21 years and a member of the Teamsters union.  He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and helping neighbors with random projects; he also loved watching sports, especially boxing, racing, and football.  Richard was a member of the Ducks Motorcycle Club and loved to travel with his family down to Daytona Beach, Florida. 

He is survived by his daughters Beth Orshoski, Linda Hardy, and Jeri (Ernie) Ray; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his 1st wife Evelyn Horgan, in 2022; 2nd wife Joan (Kain) Hardy; parents Ward and Helen Ayers Hardy; sister and brother Joan and Sam Hardy.

There will be no services at time and cremation will take place.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
