Phyllis Anne (Pollock) Kerlin, 90, of Fremont, Ohio, was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday,
October 13, 2021.
Phyllis was born July 8, 1931 in Greenport, Long Island, NY. She was preceded in death by her
husband Robert Eugene Kerlin, her mother Marjorie Lavinia Lester Pollock Murphy and her
father John King Pollock. Also preceding her in death were four siblings and eleven half-
siblings, a granddaughter and two grandsons.
At the age of two Phyllis was placed in the National Orphans' Home of the Junior Order United
American Mechanics in Tiffin, Ohio. She married her husband Bob in1950. Phyllis was an
overcomer who never stopped learning. Well known for her cooking talents, her pies were
requested by many over the years. You may remember eating some delicious treat Phyllis baked
just for you.
Phyllis moved to be near Bob upon his admission to the Ohio Veteran's Home in Sandusky and
visited him faithfully every day for four years. She devoted many hours as a volunteer in that
setting and was named "Volunteer of the Year 2007" as well as one of "Erie County's
Outstanding Women" in 2009.
Phyllis is passionate in her love for Jesus and her love for others. Over the years she served in
membership at Old Fort United Methodist Church, Deliverance Temple, The Chapel, and Family
Worship Center. Her fellowship with Family Worship Center has brought her great joy. Phyllis
tended her gardens and her friendships faithfully. She has been a fierce prayer warrior, and she
never hesitated to tell people how much God loves them.
She is survived by three sons: Danny (Sue) Kerlin of Findlay, Gary (Brenda) Kerlin of Castalia
and Robert-Bob Kerlin of Fremont. She has also blessed the lives of six grandchildren, 12 great-
grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Masks will be required. There will be a private meal for the family following the burial in Castalia Cemetery.
