Peggy V. (Neill) Doyon

Peggy V. (Neill) Doyon, Sandusky, passed on May 3rd, 2018, in the care of Stein Hospice at Firelands Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 30th, 1940, to the late Raymond and Audrey Neill.

Peggy was employed at Decko Products, Inc. for many years until retiring in the summer of 1996.  She was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, VFW and American Legion. St. Patty’s Day was always Peggy’s favorite day of the year and she would celebrate with her sisters, family, uncles and friends. Her greatest joy in life was fostering children. Her heart was filled with so much love for all children.  Peggy was a wonderful caregiver, mother and grandmother, even though she could never have her own.

On October 30th 1976, Peggy married Bernard J. Doyon Jr., also referred as her “Dino”.  Her favorite star was Dean Martin as he looked just like him.

Peggy is survived by five daughters:  Laurie (Jeff) Wedeman of Kentucky, Debra (Jeff Dailey) Lichti of Connecticut, Joanne Nicholson, Jennifer (Andy Waldock) Smith and Cheryl (Matt) Parker all of Ohio and two sons: Bernard (Mary) Doyon III of Virginia and Michael Mitchell of Sandusky.  Sisters: Pat (Bob) LaCourse, Penny (Rich) Williams, Linda (Al) Followay, and Shelley (David) Veverka. Grandchildren: Dean, Matthew, Daniel, Bruce, Paige, Storm, Kapri, Peyton, Trace, Autumn, Nolan, Emmett, Whitley, Morgan and Nevaeh. Great Grandchildren: Kaden, Hunter and Eastin.

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband on April 6th of this year, also by her parents: Raymond D. Neill, Audrey M. Bango and Step-father Chester Bango, and 2 brothers: Chester E. Bango and Douglas Bango.

A memorial service for Peggy will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 10th, 2018, at the Sandusky Yacht Club, Sandusky, where a celebration of life will follow until 7:00 PM.
