Paul D. Mesenburg

Paul D. Mesenburg, age 78, of Castalia, passed away Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

He was born March 22, 1945, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1963.  He was a banker for many years, working at Citizens Bank, Sandusky.  Paul was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky, and he enjoyed watching sports on TV and playing golf, basketball, and baseball in his younger years. 

He is survived by his wife Gloria (Leser) Mesenburg; daughter Christine (Mark) Deehr; sons Brent A. (Christine Forsberg) Mesenburg, Gregory K. (Kim) Mesenburg, and Paul A. Mesenburg; one granddaughter Hannah Mesenburg; brothers Dennis (Rose) Mesenburg and Joe (Karen) Mesenburg; sisters in-law Judy (Lynford) Sartor and Mary (Tim) Sartor; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul A. and Doris (Long) Mesenburg; mother and father in-law Connie and Kenneth Leser; and brother in law Michael Leser.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM Friday, August 4, 2023, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky.   Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
