Ollie Slauterbeck Obituary

Ollie M. Slauterbeck, age 84, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

She was born March 21, 1936 in Floyd Co. KY, to Joseph and Minnie Belle (Hall) Spears.  Ollie’s first love was caring for her family and taking care of her husband during the years he was disabled. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends, she was truly gifted in the kitchen, and was well known for her delicious pies.  Before her husband was disabled, they loved to travel, covering most of the states in the U.S.; they especially loved to travel and camp with other family members.  Ollie loved everyone and put God number one in her life and always live by her faith in Christ.  As a little girl, Ollie was required to memorize the Bible verse John 3:16, it turned into her very favorite Bible verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him shall have ever lasting life”

She is survived by her daughter Debra (Clarence) Graves, son David (Tammy) Slauterbeck, grandchildren Aaron (Lesley) Schardt, Katie McGuire, and Joshua McGuire; great grandson Jacob Schardt; sister Dorothy (Sam) Casebolt; brother Donald (Lois) Spears; and many nieces and nephews.

Ollie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Floyd Slauterbeck; sisters Mary Adkins, Magdeline Farmer, Etta Schnee, Edna Spears, and Catherine Gravely; brothers Glenn Spears, Robert Spears.

Private services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia.  Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate.  Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
