Nancy L. (Maley) Matter

Nancy L. Matter, age 83, of Castalia, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.  

She was born September 14, 1936, in Sandusky, to Russell "Boots" and Mary (Vanzant) Maley and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1954.  She worked for Ohio Bell for several years, before retiring from Providence Hospital after 26 years.  Nancy was a lifelong member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ. She enjoyed wintering down in Ft. Meyers Beach, FL with her husband; and spending the summers at Kelleys Island.  

She is survived by her son Steven L. Matter, Sandusky; son in-law Terry Scott, Sandusky; granddaughter Traci (Brad) Beaverson; two great granddaughters Riley and Skylar Beaverson.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Eldon "Al" Matter, in 2013; daughter Debra "Susie" Scott, in 2015; her parents; brother Eugene Stookey; and granddaughter Tami Scott, in 2019.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon, Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate.  Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron
