Michael J. Fitz

Michael J. Fitz, age 65, of Castalia, died Friday March 20, 2020, in his residence. 

He was born March 29, 1954, in Sandusky, and graduated from St. Mary’s Central Catholic, Sandusky,  in 1972.  He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in mythology. He worked for US Gypsum, Port Clinton, for many years.  Michael was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky, and he enjoyed going fishing, bird watching from his window, and taking naps in sun.   

He is survived by his four daughters Abigail (Ryan) Brunow, Amy Fitz, Annie (Adam) Redmon, and Alyssa (Allen Crum) Fitz; three grandchildren; and brother Craig Fitz.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife Becky E. (McGee) Fitz, in 2017; and parents Joseph and Florence Fitz.

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus, private family services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Burial will be in Venice Cemetery.
