Marie W. (Borchardt) Leser

Marie W. Leser, age 101, of Castalia, passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 18, 2022, at the Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue.

She was born May 27, 1920, in Castalia, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1938.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery.  Marie was a charter and past member of the Castalia Lions Club Auxiliary, Campfire Girls, and Lutheran Home Auxiliary.  She also sang in the church choir for 50 years.

She is survived by her granddaughter Dawn (Danny) Weyer; great grandchildren Olivia and Addison Mason and Kaiden, Ben, Saylah, Vada Weyer; two nieces Jan Smith and Julie (Phil) Cloud; and many more nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred Leser; daughter Camille Jarrett; great grandson Lucas Mason; parents Carl and Ida Mae (Franks) Borchardt; sister Betty Borchardt; and two brothers Richard and Arthur Borchardt.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of funeral service starting at 11 AM Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1320 Country Road 268 Vickery, OH 43464.  Pastor Tim Loehrke will officiate.  Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
