Leonard “Lenny” Kromer, 64, of Castalia, died Friday, May 7, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born September 6, 1956, in Sandusky, and was a 1975 graduate of Sandusky High School. He retired as a supervisor at Ohio Edison after working 39 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, spending time in his barn, his motorcycle, hunting, music, traveling, playing Santa to joyous boys and girls, and his fishing trips to Canada (especially to the Klotz Camp in Northern Ontario). In general, he just loved life and his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and his signature greeting was a thumbs up. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout.
Lenny is survived by his wife Betty, to whom he was married for 38 years; daughter Krista Mulvin; 2 sons Lenny (Amy) Kromer and Benjamin Kromer; 4 grandchildren Christian, Cameron, and Caleb Hupp, and Ava Taylor; his mother Elizabeth “Betty” Kromer; 3 sisters Lori (Tim) Wilkes, Lisa (Mark) Bailey, and Lynnette (Jim Kimberlin) Kromer; one brother Leslie “Homer” (Holly) Kromer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert G. Kromer in 1989 and his nephew Gilbert D. Kromer in 2014.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm Wednesday, May 12, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 9:30 am Thursday, until time of services at 10:30 am. His cousin Justin Jump will officiate and burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held in Lenny’s barn at a later date.
