Laure M. Swain

Laure M. Swain, age 62, of Fremont, passed away Monday afternoon, December 15, 2025, in her residence, following a courageous fight with cancer.

She was born August 24, 1963, in Baton Rouge, LA, and graduated from Margaretta High School.  Laure worked many years at Ford Motor Company as a tow motor driver.  She loved her dogs and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, with her husband Chris. 

She is survived by her husband Chris Swain; sons Thomas Gowitzka, Casey (Krista Leber) Gowitzka, and Christopher Swain; daughters Melissa Puente, Jessica (Aniceto Jr.) Puente; mother Katherine Kessler and father J.R. Shelby; grandchildren Sernity and Elijah Gowitzka, Kyden Gowitzka, Joaquin Jr, Angelina, and Xsaria Puente, Jozlynn Swain, Alexius McDonald, Audia Swain, and Peyton Puente, Aniceto III, Gavino and Domingo Puente; siblings Deb (Tom Sengstock, Summer Shelby, Jennifer (Hershel) Cordle, Leatha Hefner, John (Terri) Trujillo, and Don (Laura) Trujillo; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Laure was preceded in death by her sister Tina Kessler and grandparents.
