Karen A. Cyr, age 75, of Castalia, died Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019, in her residence following a brief illness.
She was born November 1, 1943, in Van Buren, ME, and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky; where she worked for over 15 years as the secretary. Karen also was a secretary for Margaretta Local Schools for several years. She loved spending time with her family and she especially loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Don Cyr; four children Duane Cyr, Castalia, Renee (Bill) Nolan, Brunswick, Michelle (Kris) Widdows, Burbank, and Collette (Paul) Fox, Sandusky; grandchildren Allison Fox, Kayla Obenour, Paul Fox III, Alexis Fox, Sean Nolan, Sarah Nolan, Steven Widdows, John Widdows, and Stephanie Widdows; three great grandchildren; six brothers Bob, Gill, Jeff, Steve, Peter and Rich Getz; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Marcella (Pelletier) Getz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 20, 2019, at 10:00 AM, in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave. Father Jeffery Walker will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be immediately followed in the gathering space of the church. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
