Joyce M. Hageman

Joyce M. Hageman, age 93, of Defiance, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

She was born June 18, 1931, in Wauseon, and graduated from Wauseon High School in 1948.  Joyce was a store manager for 10 years at Sterling Store, Defiance and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Defiance; where she was very active in the Bible study group, and she was a Girl Scouts leader for many years. 

She is survived by her daughter Toni (Gary) Borchardt; three granddaughters Erika Borchardt, Miranda (Chris) Baillie, and Veronica (Justin) Woods; five great grandchildren Kennedy, Reagan, and Jackson Baillie, and Alexandra and Evangeline Lamm; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James Hageman; son Scott Hageman; daughter Teri Hageman; parents Lawrence and Alma Lillich; and sisters June Weber, Janet Jackson, and Judy Klopstein.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
