Jean (Rohrbacher) Fitz, age 87, of Castalia, died Wednesday morning, March 25, 2020, at the Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron, following at lengthy illness.
She was born January 29, 1933, in Mechanicsburg, OH, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1951. Jean worked at the Castalia Banking Co. for many years and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia; where she sang in the senior choir, taught Sunday School, pianist for the children’s choir, and was in the Woman of the Church. She also was a member of MARMO, Couples Club, Fellowship Club of the Church, and was a former member of the Lions Club Auxiliary, treasurer of the Lutheran Memorial Home, and leader of the Blue Birds.
She is survived by two daughters Donna Ash and Diana (Butch) Krawetzki; one son Daniel (Kathy) Rohrbacher; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her 1st husband Chester Rohrbacher, 2nd Delbert Fitz; parents Carlton Hillman and Ada (Sherwood) Hoffman; son David Rohrbacher; step father Fred Hoffman; sisters Doris Kaelin, Mary Ellen Kopenhoefer, and twin sister Jane Perry; and brothers Thomas Baldwin, Robert Hillman, and Billy Hillman
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus, private family services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
