Edith J. Salyers, age 90, of Castalia, passed away Tuesday evening, August 22, 2023, at the Bellevue Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 22, 1933, in Pound, VA., and was a member of The Church of God, Castalia. Edith worked for American Crayon, Good Samaritan Hospital, and was a housekeeper for Margaretta Schools. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends.
She is survived by daughters Peggy (Donald) Bolyard, and Patti (Daniel) Blay; grandchildren Kimberly (Mark) Collins, Heather (Shawn) Stegman, Donielle (Ronald) Legg, Aaron Blay, Michael (Sarah) Gish; great grandchildren Erin (Chase) Dull, Kaila (Kyle) Rosebrock, Austin Blay, Chelsea (Zach) Stephens, Dodge Collins, Kade Collins, Aiden Blay, Ethan Gish, and James Gish; great-great grandchildren Baylor Stephens, and Paisley and Cambree Dull; son in-law Mike Gish; sister Angeline Sprowl; and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Earl Salyers; daughter Nancy Gish; parents Larkin and Sally (Jackson) Winebarger; two sisters; and four brothers.
Friends may call from 3-6 PM Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Monday August 28, 2023, at 11 AM. Pastor Ronald Legg and Deacon Donald Bolyard will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
