Dale L. Wightman, age 80, of Castalia, went to join his wife in Heaven, on her birthday, January 14, 2021, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born February 6, 1940, in Sandusky, and worked at the Coal Docks, Sandusky, for several years, before retiring from Wal-Mart after working in the maintenance department for over 20 years. Dale and his late wife loved camping and was a member of the Vacationland Travelers Club and the Good Sam Club. Around the campgrounds, Dale was known as the “Tool man” as he always had any tool that other campers needed.
He is survived by his daughter Wendy Wightman; son Allen (Tracy) Wightman; two grandchildren Brendon and Tia; two sister in-laws Joann (Tony) Ramon and Elizabeth (David) Wills; two brother in-laws Clyde and Jack Walton; and several nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Wightman; three sisters Donna, Sandra, and Linda; and a still born brother.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 10:30 AM in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
