Charles A. Parker, age 78, of Castalia, passed away Friday night, June 4, 2021, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 30, 1942, in Castalia, and attended Margaretta High School. Charles worked for Mathews Ford, Sandusky, retiring after 25 years of service. He served in the Ohio National Guard. He attended Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the Bellevue Eagles and Sandusky American Legion. He was also a member of the tractor pulling associations, NTPA and OSTPA. He loved football, basketball, and NASCAR.
Charlie is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie House; 2 sons Don Parker of Clyde, and Mark (Tara) Parker of Louisville, KY; 5 grandchildren Michele (Jason) Kessler, Kelsey Parker, Amanda and Adam Meyer, Nick and Ashley McNeil, and Alexis Cain; 6 great grandchildren Korbyn King, Mila Kessler, Macy Kessler, Jase, Jessa, and Regan; 3 sisters Jeanette (James) Toft, Ruth (Walter) Franklin, and Clara (David) Bailey; 2 brothers John (Lyn) Parker and Richard (Shari) Parker; sisters-in-law Jane Parker and Faith Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Foster and Marie Parker, and 2 brothers James and Robert Parker.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm Tuesday, June 8, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, June 9. Pastor Tom Groot will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
