Bobby J. Brummitt, age 83, of Castalia, passed away Tuesday morning, January 26, 2021, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a long battle with cancer.
He was born June 3, 1937, in Pound, VA, and graduated from Ervington High School in 1956. He worked as a Union Official for over 40 years, starting with Ford Motor Company and retiring from International UAW, as the assistant director of region 2B. Bobby was a member of the Venice Rd. Baptist Church, Sandusky, and was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, earning his 50 year pin.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Lambert) Brummitt; two sons Eric (Debi) Brummitt and Bryan (Dani) Brummitt; 3 grandchildren Daniel, Trevor, and Chelsea Blue Brummitt; sister Janice Redford; two brothers Elson and Willard Brummitt.
Bobby was preceded in death by his 1st wife Ida Fay Brummitt; parents George and Delphi (Meade) Brummitt; son Keith Brummitt; two sisters Angelina Richie and Retta Souza.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, private family services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
