Billy C. Pounders, age 83, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday morning, September 29, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born April 21, 1939, in Mississippi, and graduated from Hatley High School, Hatley, MS. Billy proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Wayside Temple, Castalia. He worked for Christian Faith Broadcasting, Castalia, where he was a radio announcer for W.L.R.D. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and loved watching his grandsons in all their sporting events and other activities, but most of all he loved being their “Pop-Pop”.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Edie (Kiser) Pounders; daughter Davida (Tony) Sosa; grandsons Clayton and Cameron Sosa; sisters Audrey (Barney) Vann,MS, and Janette (Jerry) Cooper, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Irene (Taylor) Pounders.
Friends may call from 9:30 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia. Pastor Rusty Yost will officiate. Entombment will be in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
