Barbara Jean (McCourt) Saylor

Barbara J. Saylor, age 86, of Bay View, passed away Tuesday evening, October 27, 2020, at her residence. 

She was born June 8, 1934, in Morgantown WV., and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky.  Barbara worked for Foster Grant for several years before working for Sandusky Plastics where she retired from.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends, being out in the woods deer and turkey hunting, going fishing and boating, riding ATV’s and camping; and in the last eight years, she went everywhere with her son Bill, including white water rafting at the age of 84.

She is survived by her children Bern (Jenny) Saylor, Sandusky, Bill (fiancé Katherine Tusing) Saylor, Bay View, and Sue (John) Kane, Charleston SC; grandchildren Michael Saylor, Brad Saylor, Adam Saylor, Geremy Couts, Josh Couts, and soon to be step grandchild Cailyn Tusing; eight great grandchildren; sister Shirley Gabbert, Las Vegas, NV; and grand dog “Chloe”.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband John Saylor, in 2012; and sister Dorothy McCourt, who passed away as a child.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, OH.  Rev. Catherine Schibler will officiate.  Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask everyone to please wear a mask and practice social distancing while in attendance.
