Barbara J. Dwight, age 82, of Sandusky, passed away Monday night, March 29, 2021, in her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 21, 1938, in Sandusky, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1956. She helped run Progressive Fabricating and Agriweld with her husband and was a dance instructor for Kay Lutz Dance Studio for many years; she also worked at Philco for several years. Barbara was an avid roller skater and worked at Skate World; she also competed in skate competitions. Barbara was a member of the Congregational U.C.C., Castalia.
She is survived by her daughter Lynne Dwight; two sons Craig (Sally) Dwight, and Michael (Pam) Dwight; seven grandchildren Angela (Andy) Killian, Trevor Shinault, Daniel (Brittany) Shinault, Christopher Dwight, Leah and Lorenza Dwight, and Daniel Dwight; sister Linda (Gus) Obney; brother John (Joyce) Paputza; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Daniel H. Dwight; son Daniel T. Dwight; parents Howard and Thelma (Kubitz) Billman; step father James Paputza; two brothers Robert Billman and Tom Billman; and two sister in-laws Bernice Billman and Marilyn Billman.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
