August 13, 1957 – June 12, 2022
Thomas R. Puchalski, age 64, of Castalia, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 13, 1957, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1975; where he awarded the Herman Gant award for top scholar/athlete in his class. He also was inducted to the Margaretta Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2014. Thomas continued his love of sports by being a "Super Fan" of all Margaretta Athletics and his grandchildren's sports. He was a boat mechanic for over 20 years and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky. Thomas enjoyed boating and fishing, woodworking, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Payne) Puchalski, whom he married on July 21, 2007; two daughters Sarah Bruni, Sandusky, and Bethany Killian, Sandusky; two sons Joel Puchalski, Sandusky, and Jared (Ashley) Puchalski, Dayton; three step-sons Andrew (Carrie) Henney, Bellevue, Matthew Henney, Battle Creek MI, and Daniel Henney, Sandusky; 8 grandchildren Jayce, Benjamin, William, Jordyn, Kaitlyn, Madisyn, Emma, and Quinn; two step grandchildren Dane and Carson; sister Sue (Rand) Pullano, Sandusky; nieces Heather (Bruce) Highfield and Brynn (Marty) Richter; nephew Brian (Allison) Bohn; and his beloved dog and companion "Gracie Mae".
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Sylvia and Robert Puchalski.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 4-7 PM at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
