Shirley A. Cogar, age 82, of Bay View, died Sunday morning, March 15, 2020, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

She was born July 17, 1937, in Adrian, OH, and attended Fostoria St. Wendelin Catholic School.  She worked for the Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky, for many years; and in her free time, she enjoyed traveling, going to the senior center, and knitting.

She is survived by two daughters Tina (Rex) Bodi and Kelly Cogar; two sons Dennis (Linda) Cogar and Joseph Cogar; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister Mary (Richard) Stimmel; three brothers Deroy (Gretta) Knowlton, Eugene (Mary) Knowlton, and Bill (Linda) Knowlton; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Waymon Cogar in 1966; and parents Graydon and Rose (Lucius) Cogar.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
