Scott Dale
Abbott
December 26, 1952 – October 20, 2025
Scott Dale Abbott, age 72, of Castalia, peacefully passed away Monday October 20, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born December 26, 1952, in Fremont, to the late Dale and Sylvia (Hendricks) Abbott. He attended Margaretta High School. Scott always had a strong work ethic in his many work roles; road construction laborer, licensed heavy machine operator, Davis Besse shut down crew laborer, and an employee of Hanson Stone Quarry (Heidelberg Materials).
In Scott's retirement, he met his love and soul mate, Diane Borsick. He made her his wife on June 5, 2021. They both loved country living. Their homestead was a warm, welcoming place to everyone who stopped. "Bubba" and "Punkin" were the endearing names they called each other.
His barn at times was the home of goats, horses, and donkeys. Rosie the dog and later Sandy the dog became Scott's companions as he rode his golf cart around the country side. He liked farm auctions, where he could shine at his "wheeling and dealing" skills.
Scott loved the Lord dearly and prayed daily. His family and friends were loved too. He would show that love by visiting them to see how they were doing and giving offerings of home grown fruits and vegetables. He was well known and liked by the Castalia community. Scott was a truly good, kind man.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Borsick) Abbott; sisters Theresa Dimitrov and Claudia (Martin) Orlowski; brother Phillip (Doreen) Abbott; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents; sister Penny (Donald) Siles; brother in-law Georgi Dimitrov; and nephews David Siles and Richard Bash.
