Brandquist

Ruth Jean Brandquist, 90, of Winston-Salem, NC, and formerly of Sandusky, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a brief illness.
She was born February 24, 1934, in Venice, OH, to John and Ellen Leidorf. She was a Margaretta High School graduate, and was always active in church and school activities. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women's Fellowship at Trinity Lutheran Church. She held office in the Concerned People for Exceptional Children. Her greatest joys in life were taking care of her family, cooking, baking, as well as being a talented oil paint artist.
Ruth is survived by her sons Roland Brandquist of North Carolina, and Richard (Lisa) Branquist of Kernersville, NC; her daughter Robin (George) Richardson of Bartonville, IL; 3 grandchildren Dustin Brandquist, Brittany (Jim) Bennett, and Kaylee Richardson; 3 step grandchildren Robert Blake Hunt, Brandi Hopkins, and Brandon Padfield; 3 step great grandchildren Aiden Hopkins, Ailana Hopkins, and Arabella Hopkins; and by her loving and loyal poodle Anne Louise.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Robert Brandquist; her parents; and brother Curtis Leidorf.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in Venice Cemetery, Sandusky. The Rev. Jen Herrmann will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Road, Sandusky, OH 44870; Messiah Moravian Church; or to The Enrichment Center of Winston-Salem, NC.
