Roy R.
Gibbs
August 21, 1951 – February 15, 2025
Roy Randall Gibbs, 73, of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025. He was born August 21, 1951, in Oneida, Kentucky to Roy and Lucy (Lewis) Gibbs.
Roy dedicated 37 years of hard work to Kraft Heinz before retiring in 2012, to enjoy the things he loved most—his family, the great outdoors, and making others laugh. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kathryn Kirby, and a pillar of strength for his large and loving family.
Roy found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was out fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, or camping under the stars, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His love for music filled his home with warmth, and his sharp wit ensured there was never a dull moment in his presence. He had a deep appreciation for history and could always be counted on for a good story or a well-timed joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Curtis J.J. Gibbs; grandson, Clayton J. Sullivan II; and his siblings, Remona (Gibbs) Hensley, Ray Gibbs, Rose (Gibbs) Jarvis, Renus Gibbs, Ruth (Gibbs) Hensley, Mary (Gibbs) Hensley, and Joann (Gibbs) Hensley.
Roy is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his children, Rochell Gibbs, Richard McClanahan, Chandra Hammons, and Everett Joshua Lee Lawson; brother, Leonard (Barbara) Gibbs; sister, Brenda (Gibbs) Griffin. His legacy lives on in his 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Roy was a man of great love, humor, and generosity, always putting family first. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
