Obituary

Robert L. James, age 72, of Vickery, died Friday morning, June 24, 2016, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

He was born February 8, 1944 in Sandusky, and graduated from Townsend High School in 1962.  Robert served in the U.S. Army and worked as a machine operator at Union Chain (US Tsubaki).  He was a member of the American Legion and UAW; he loved to fish, hunt, and play poker and pool.

He is survived by two daughters Julie Stamm, Vickery,and Dawn (Donald Yates) James, Sandusky; five grandchildren Josh (Lindsey) James, Scott (Brittney) Pflieger, Travis Kennedy, Marcedes (Matt) Pidcock, and Garrett James; three great grandchildren Jonathon and Skylor Pflieger and Haylen James; two sisters Carolyn Burns, Bellevue, and Loretta James, Lapeer, MI; brother Jon (Pat) Franklyn, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Biecheler in 1993; parents Jessie and Eva (Kar) James; sister Judy Rose; and two brothers William and Richard James.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
