Marvin L. Salmon's Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Marvin Salmon, who was born on January 17, 1935, in Howell, MI.  Marvin passed away on August 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in care of Hospice at Trustwell Living at Clyde Gardens Place, Clyde.

Marvin was born on January 17, 1935, in Howell, MI., to the late Raymond Salmon and the late Helen Salmon.  Survivors include his spouse Addie, whom he married in 1957.  Together, they raised four wonderful children: Laird (spouse Jennifer and their three sons, Matthew, James, and David), Robin (spouse Bill Mason and their two sons Nicholas and Ryan), Tracey (spouse Jim Bodey and their son Gage), and Julie (spouse Bill Cornwell and their two children Cody and Catie).  Marvin is also survived by his younger sister Mary Helen (spouse Gary Davis) from Manchester, MI.

Marvin graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Animal Husbandry.  When he graduated from MSU he went to work for the Ralston Purina Company and moved his family to Ohio.  Marvin left the Ralston Purina Company and went to work with a company in the insurance and financial planning field, he eventually became self employed as a financial planner.  Marvin and his wife Addie raised their family in Bellevue, where they lived for almost 60 years.  In his free time, Marvin enjoyed playing golf with Addie, his children, grandchildren, and friends.  When he could no longer play golf he would still ride in the golf cart when the family got together to play.

Marvin didn't let his medical issues stop him from enjoying his family and watching his youngest grandchild play high school football and basketball.  Marvin could be seen on the sidelines at every home game.  Though three of his children moved away from Bellevue, they all made frequent visits to be together and celebrate holidays and milestones and Marvin never missed these wonderful opportunities.

No memorial service is immediately planned.  The family will notify loved ones when a service is scheduled.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangement.  Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.ransomfuneralhome.com.
