Marvin Kuns's Obituary

CASTALIA — Marvin "Pete" Kuns, age 87, of Castalia, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Willows of Bellevue, after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 7, 1927 in Castalia and served in the U.S. Army. Pete was a master plumber for the city of Sandusky and owned and operated Kuns Plumbing and Heating for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, former member and past member of the Castalia Lions Club, past director of Castalia Banking Co., partner in building the Pinewood Condominiums, and member of the Erie County Home Builders.

He is survived by his wife Mary Carol (Raschke) Kuns; son Brad (Edie) Kuns, Castalia; two granddaughters Emily (Justin) Worley and Kaylee Kuns; great granddaughter Rachel Worley; two great grandsons Wyatt and Hunter Worley; and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Clara (Mischke) Kuns; six brothers Gerald, Luther, Ervin, Theodore, Arthur, and Robert; three sisters Rita Semprich, June Ried, and Lucille Hire.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be a later date in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
