M. Donald Coburn, 80, of Margaretta Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, in Genacross Lutheran Services, Sandusky.
He was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Keene, NH, and lived in the Swanzey, N.H. area until he went to College at Bowling Green State University. He taught school 2 years at Portage Twp. in Elmwood, 2 years at Cygnet Schools, and 26 years at Margaretta Schools. Don also worked for Owens Illinois and for his son Bill, since 1990.
Don was a member of the Castalia Lions Club, and won the Lions Golf League several times. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry projects, and above all, his family. He loved to travel with his wife Gloria, and had many friends. In later years, he devoted all his time and energy to his loving wife Gloria and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, to whom he was married for 58 years; 2 sons Bruce Alan (Kim) Coburn of St. Ignatius, MT, and William Ray (Cindy) Coburn of Sandusky; 3 grandchildren Kendra (Patrick) Cutler of Unakaleet, AK, Kate (Levi) Maughan of Billings, MT, and Isabella Coburn of Sandusky; 3 great grandchildren Klohe, Trinity, and Abel of Unakaleet, AK.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Coburn.
At Don's request, cremation has taken place. Graveside services for the family will be held in Castalia Cemetery.
