Obituary

Larry Allen Wuertz, age 82, of Castalia, passed away Saturday evening June 27, 2026, in his residence.

He was born December 11, 1943, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1962. Larry was a meat cutter for over 30 years at the former Mark’s Pick n Pay, Sandusky, and he was Captain for the Margaretta Fire Dept. for many years. Larry was a member of the VFW and American Legion; and loved to fish, hunt, go boating. He enjoyed gardening and making pickles, tending to his plants and cacti, crafting and inventing new gadgets; including his improved can crusher. Larry was one of those guys that could fix or build anything.

He is survived by his daughters Kristine Stoner, Kathleen Brose, Laura Wuertz, and Tara Tetzloff; son Thomas (Becky) Tetzloff; six grandchildren Janel Stoner, Ashley Thompson, Brian Stoner, Arielle Lewis, Damien Lewis, and Hannah Brose; four great grandchildren Mason, Enzo, Dahlia, and Benjamin; two sisters Beverly Fox and Nancy (Steve) Molnar; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Viola (Durfey) Wuertz; and a host of sisters, brothers, and other relatives.
