Kromer

Kenneth L. "Johnny" Kromer Sr., age 95, of Castalia, died Monday afternoon, July 11, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born April 10, 1921, in Sandusky. Ken worked on his family farm for 60 years, and also owned and operated Ken Kromer Excavating until 1976. More recently, Ken worked for Parker Excavating and Erie Blacktop running their bulldozers, retiring 10 years ago. In 1970, Ken began to raise Arabian horses, where he and his wife started Ken-Char Arabian Horse Stable on Billings Road in Castalia. He was a member of the Arabian Horse Association. He loved his son and daughter in-law and he loved his horses.
He is survived by his son Ken (Tammy) Kromer; special nephew Homer Kromer; and several sisters and brothers.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte (Ebner) Kromer, in 1997; parents Leonard and Cecella (Good) Kromer; and granddaughter Kelly Kromer.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM Thursday, July 14, 2016 until time of services at 1:00 PM at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Gene Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
