Joshua J. Hoffman, age 30, of Castalia and formerly of Fremont, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020, in his residence.

He was born April 29, 1989, in Fremont, and graduated from Fremont Ross in 2007.  He was a member of Worship Alive, Bellevue, and he enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and rapping. Josh had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his friends.

He is survived by his mother Dawn (Hoffman) Cronin; step father Douglas Cronin; step mother Heather Shorts; grandmother Shirley Shorts; two half sisters Justine Cronin and Chloe Shorts; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father John Shorts; half sister Chelsea Shorts; grandparents Paul Shorts and Carl and Arlene Hoffman.

Friends may call from 2 PM until time of services at 4 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Pastor Rita Cooper will officiate.
