Joanne E. Paule, age 88, of Sandusky, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 18, 1934, in Sandusky, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1952.  She was a member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and also was a member of the former Maccabees.  Joanne enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her biggest joy was surrounding herself with family and friends, sharing great food and stories.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Harry Appleman) VanDootingh, and Sue Freeman; son Donald A. (Sue) Paule; four grandchildren Claire Willer, Seth Will, Troy (Alexa) Willer, and Erin Paule; four granddaughters Emily, Abby, Avery, and Cheyanne; sister Barbara Kaufman; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and loved ones, including special nieces Tammi and Beth.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Donald Paule, in 2002; siblings Ellen Malson, Frank "Bill" Borsick, Paul Borsick, Lois "Jean" Borsick, June Wallace, Douglas "Joe" Borsick, and David Borsick.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022, at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
