Jerry Preston Legg, 76, of Castalia, died Friday, September 24, 2021, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born March 1, 1945, in Hico, WV, was a graduate of Nuttall High School in West Virginia, then moved to Ohio. He loved fishing, hunting, playing Bluegrass music, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed winters in Florida with his family.
He retired from GM in 1999 after 30 years of employment, and was a veteran of the US Army from 1967 until being honorably discharged in 1971.
Jerry is survived by his wife, the former Patricia A. Jordan, to whom he was married for 51 years on July 17, 2021; two sons Ronald P.(Donielle) Legg of Castalia, and Brian M. (Tammy) Legg of Monroeville; 3 grandchildren Chelsea L. (Zac) Stephens, Ashlynn M. Legg, and Stacey M. Legg; 2 sisters Merlynn (Ken) Sawyer and Nancy (Gene) Ferris, and 1 brother Steve (Darla) Legg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pete L. and Gladola Legg; and siblings Ada Love, Mary Ann Highlander, Alma Legg, Pete Legg, and Paul Legg.
Friends may call from 4-8pm Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held at 11 am Thursday, Sept. 30. The Rev. Levi Stephens will officiate and burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery. The Marines Forever will conduct graveside military honors.
