Jerry M. Eakin, age 78, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning December 7, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

He was born June 4, 1943, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1961.  Jerry was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky, was an electrician for over 30 years with IBEW Local 129, Lorain.  He also was a member of VFW, AMVETS, American Legion, and the Beekeepers Association, Clyde.  Jerry was an avid outdoorsman; and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and shooting.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Cook; son Jason Eakin; two sisters Judith McDurfee and Janis (Doug) Wiedle; three grandchildren Joseph Eakin, Derek Seitz, and Melissa Thornton; God-daughter/niece Cortney Rapp, nephew Ed Kennedy, and several other nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Inez (Raitz) Eakin.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.
