James C. Kuns, 78, of Castalia, died unexpectedly at his daughter's residence, Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

He was born May 14, 1939, in Sandusky, and was a 1957 graduate of Margaretta High School. He was a proud dairy farmer, working with his family on the farm. He served in the Army Reserve at Camp Perry for 7 years.

He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, and was a member of Vacationland Pool League for over 40 years. He loved being with his family; gardening, which he shared with his family and friends; and was a proud supporter of Margaretta sports when his grandchildren were involved, which he faithfully supported and followed in all the events.

He is survived by his daughter Denise (Tim Keller) Christman; son Chris (Robin Gosser) Kuns; five grandchildren Kyle, Kurtis, and Rockelle Kuns, and Conner and Brianne Christman; two great grandchildren Luke and Payton Kuns; two sisters Carolyn Warner, Sandusky and Wanda Ross, Castalia; brother Richard (Alice) Kuns, Castalia; sisters in-law Carol Kuns and Linda Kuns; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his best friend Marcia (Geiger) Rollheiser, in 2011; parents Theodore and Luella (Niemann) Kuns; brothers Norman "Sam" Kuns and Larry "Butch" Kuns; and a brother in infancy.

Friends may call from 1 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, until time of memorial services at 2 PM, in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Rev Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. His cremains will be scattered on the family farm at a later time.
