Jim Bise, 78, of Bay View, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 7, 1941, to Link and Daisey Bise in Fremont, VA, and grew up in Crestline, OH.

Jim worked for North American Aviation in Canoga, CA, and retired in Sandusky after many years working as a freight engineer with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn-Central, and Con-Rail. He was an Army Veteran of Vietnam, serving with D Company, 5th Special Forces Group in the Mekong Delta Region of South Vietnam in 1965 and 1966.

He enjoyed most talking with all the good sports fans of Erie and Ottawa Counties, drinking beer and rooting for the The OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns at Terry's Tavern in Bay View.

He is survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers, and was preceded in death by his parents.

At Jim's request, there will be no services. Following cremation, burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery, Sandusky. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
