Jack Deforrest Bohn's Obituary

Jack D. Bohn, age 90. of Castalia, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in the Willows of Bellevue.

He was born April 1, 1927, in Castalia, OH, and attended Margaretta High School. He co-owned Bohn Implement since 1955 with his father and brothers until his retirement. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII.

Jack was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, where he was Sunday School Superintendent, served on the Vestry, and played dart ball for many years. He was a former director of the Castalia Bank and a member of the Townsend Ruritan.

He is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Glass, to whom he was married for 69 years; 4 daughters Susan Mix of Omaha, NE, Barbara (Dave Walczak) Bohn of Summerfield, FL, Christine (Tim) Niemeyer of Castalia, and Mary (Joey) Supina of Sandusky; 2 sons Jeff (Chris) Bohn of Castalia, and Larry (Laura) Bohn of Attica; 10 grandchildren Julie, Mariposa, Ryan, Christopher, Renee, Keith, Jessica, Chantelle, Kayleigh, and Bryce; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister Patricia Gardner of Castalia; one brother Max (Patty) Bohn of Castalia;  several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law Betty and Delores Bohn.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents George and Mildred Bohn; great granddaughter Graelyn Bohn; two brothers  Bill and George Bohn; and his brother in law Duane Gardner.

Friends may call from 4-8PM Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10:00 AM Friday until time of services at 11:00AM in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
