Irene Johanna (Burrer) Moots, age 95, of Sandusky, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, of natural causes.
She had an active life and loved to dance, play cards, and work on sewing, crocheting, knitting, and needlework projects. For over 25 years she supported the Care Wear Volunteers organization. Care Wear is a nationwide group of volunteers who knit, crochet and/or sew handmade baby items that are distributed directly to hospitals. The hospitals give the items (free of charge) to infants, children and their parents.
She is survived by her daughters: Patricia (David) Blatt, Jane Hunt, and Vicki Botten; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her caring companion, George Whittier; her husband, William P. Moots; and son William P. Moots, Jr.
Graveside services will be Friday, February 24, 2017, at 2 PM in Riverside Cemetery Monroeville, Ohio. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, was in charge of the arrangements.
