Gladys M. Bash, age 97, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2020, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born May 1, 1922, in Berea, OH, and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky; where she was very active in the church prior to going into the nursing home. She was a proud former "Rosie The Riveter" during WWII and a loving stay at home mom after moving to Sandusky to raise her family. She will be missed by her beloved family.
She is survived by her three children Janice (Dan) Fredrick, Castalia, Nancy (Jim) Rogers, Sandusky, and Ken (Denise) Bash, Bellevue; four grandchildren Randy and Tim Fredrick, Jodi Reineck, and Tracey Newman; six great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bash, grandson Rob Ferrell, parents Alex and Regina (Yanke) Zelenski; sisters Justine Tounsley, Jean Munroe, Ange Fertig, Helen Zacharias, and Joan Guarnera; and brothers Robert and Carl Zelinski.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus, private family services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St. Castalia. Chaplain Kim McCown-Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
